Transcendence

Transcending is the 12th dimension of Whole Person Wellness from the Wellness Inventory founded by John W. Travis MD in the 1970’s.  Facing serious illness and death is a transformational experience that we are currently facing.  At this time we have slowed ourselves way down and are getting back in touch with ourselves and with nature.

There is no point in resisting that life is changing course. This is not a time for self-doubt or to beat yourself up.  It is important for us to eat well, keep our bodies moving and keep our minds creative to keep our immune system up at this time.

We are slowing down back in sync with our natural rhythms. Now that we have recharged it’s time to become self-productive and fire up your immune systems by eating better and moving our bodies more. Get up and take a walk, go for a run, ride your bike, go fishing or hit some balls.

I started walking a new path near my home.  I found social distancing and a new awareness of how wasteful we have become.  As you can see in these pictures social distancing is everywhere including the fisherman as well as this precious photo of resting horses on a bed of fresh hay.

Since this crisis started and the paper towel and toilet paper shortage I have become alert to how much I actually use on a daily basis.  Now I use it more consciously and sparingly.  As I walk by a budding tree I started to realize the amount of trees we must be killing just for this need.  I have also become increasingly aware of the amount of garbage we produce.

Finally, my contribution to the #518rainbowhunt a # which was created to inspire folks while taking walks during this time of quarantine.  Create and share your own version of #518rainbowhunt. “Keep pursuing goodness and it will spread to everyone around you.” Stay well.  Need more support check out mindful.org
